Cheadle Square is situated within the Cultural Quarter, the historic heart of Bolton and a magnet for visitors thanks to its grand civic architecture and cultural attractions.
It’s the ideal location for high quality residential, business and restaurant developments. Cheadle Square will complement the area’s many assets to create a vibrant destination.
The intervention area takes in a number of central sites – such as the town’s former bus station – that are adjacent to architectural gems at Le Mans Crescent, including the Town Hall, Albert Halls, Civic Centre and Bolton Museum.
The Cultural Quarter itself is subject to significant investment, for example the £10m refurbishment of the award-winning Octagon Theatre and the creation of a world class Egyptology gallery at the museum.
Cheadle Square will combine high-end residential and commercial developments – and student accommodation to serve the growing University of Bolton – with better connectivity and new public realm.
