Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP) is expanding the Citylabs campus to create Citylabs 2.0 and 3.0, in a joint venture partnership with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). This £60m expansion will create 220,000 sq ft of laboratory and office space for health and medical technology businesses and will establish a leading genomics campus for the UK. Having received planning permission, Citylabs 2.0 and 3.0 will be the first scheme delivered through the Strategic Property Partnership between Bruntwood and MFT.
Citylabs 2.0 is the first phase of the development, comprising 92,000 sq ft new build of laboratory and office space. Construction is expected to complete in 2020.
Citylabs 3.0 is the second phase of the development, spanning 128,000 sq ft and integrating new build with the Old Saint Mary’s Hospital, an existing listed Victorian building. Construction is due to complete in 2021.
